Hi there,

I have a device listening on port 502 which I try to connect to through a Dovado TINY. I have configured the TINY and enabled Port forwarding on port 502, with packets forwarded to 192.168.0.2. 192.168.0.2 static address is also configured to be given to my device based on its MAC address.

The whole thing does not work though and I get the following message:
Unhandled Exception: System.Net.Sockets.SocketException: No connection could be made because the target machine actively refused it.

I then tried to make a simple setup, simply trying to assign a static address to my laptop connected to the TINY. It didn't work, and my laptop was assigned another IP address.

Is there something that I am missing for assigning static IP addresses? Should DHCP be disabled?

I am also wondering if my connection from outside are not blocked, maybe I need to set somwhere the list of client that are allowed to be forwarded to a specific port.

Thanks for your help,
Anthony

The procedure is exactly the same, reset the TINY and the username/password defaults to admin/password.

Hi Padraic - I believe the E353 in not supported on the UMR. The E173 *should* work fine with the UMR. It's always worth resetting to factory settings. Dovado suggest the following to improve throughput:

Go to SYSTEM->NETWORK SETTINGS.

Unclick the "Let router select safe settings" in case it has been selected.

Select the "3G General" profile from the drop-down Load Preset menu.

Save Settings and apply a Restart of your router.

Any known problems with the UMR on Meteor. I have had it working fine on O2 for ages but trying for days with a Meteor E173 and an unlocked O2 E353 . Both work fine in USB mode but when plugeed to the UMR the speed drops to almost nothing. Any advice appreciated.

Thanks,

Padraic

Just to say a quick thank you. I received my 4GR last week only a day or two after ordering, and was surprised and delighted to find that it is configurable via a simple web interface with most Irish ISPs already configured. Its enabled me to throw away landlines for good, so you've saved me hundreds of euros for the next couple of years. Thanks again, Laura.

Hi Mike - the O2 Hotshot (aka the Huawei E586 MiFi) is a modem+short range router and won't be supported on the Dovado routers. Sorry to disappoint. If you got hold of an unlocked (or O2 Ireland) modem you could use the Hotshot's SIM as needed.

Hi
would the dovado router work with O2 hotshot. I've tried 2 other routers - D-Link DWR-131 and a Zoom 4506 with no success so far. Kind regards

Okay - if the reset succeeded, the router should now be broadcasting its wireless network as DOVADO and it will be unsecured so you can connect from any wireless client browser. Proceed with configuration using the browser address http://192.168.0.1 - the login will be admin & password.
